History Time

For centuries the practice of sealing a soul into an inanimate object power was used. The main use at the time was for musical instruments and swords. No such art was so revered or sought after. Who could resist an unbeatable sword? The sweetest sounding instrument to make you rich? However prices for such items, also known as tsukumogami, were priceless. Such as your sanity...your heart...your voice...even your very soul. Even so many people through history bought such items. The other catch was your spirit could also have a human shape whenever they wanted and could get up and leave you when they wanted. You can't stop them either...they have powers you could never dream of.

Anyways those prices for such items. Heres an example, ever here of Jack the Ripper? He bought a knife that would allow him to remain a shadowy figure and sneak around unnoticed. It cost him his sanity. Ever here of Beethoven? He gave up the ability to hear his own music when he became a success. His object was a harmonica that would make him a natural at creating music. There are more, Hanzo Hattori and his kurisagama. A straight record of kills. Blackbeard, ruled the oceans with his trade mark cutlass. However at one time in history there was more violence than intended. Guilty for the war they caused the creators of such deadly tools destroyed them all with a mere ceremony. A ceremony that cost them there lives. After that, only the musical instruments meant to bring beauty were left. Eventually lost to history.

Welcome to Odds and Ends Antiques

We're in the Big Apple baby~! Busy streets, dangerous alleyways, and the most diverse amount of people around. Oh and the high crime rate, but that's for another time. Here our beloved yet possessed instruments have ended up. In an old antique shop, where the old man running it is more than he seems. He isn't surprised at that he has musical instruments changing into humans and walking about. He takes care of then as if they were his own grandchildren. Save for a few, those few have moved on for bigger and better things. Even though the creators of the tsukumogami destroyed the weapons, they did not realize they should have destroyed all there creations. All spirits had the ability to become a weapon. Today some of those spirits residing in an instrument have decided it was time they take over the world. Two groups were formed, the Zero Notes and the ahem...apparently our good guys don't have a name. Furthermore the reason for such a radical idea was that two instruments were twins. A dispute of who was the better instrument and had more power. Childish really...but sibling rivalry makes the best story eh? The world will probably fall in a week or two...maybe never if our good guys pull through.

Your Story

The side on which you take is yours. Are you on the good side or a Zero Note? Those against Zero Notes, well lets just say you aren't as skilled in combat and that your best friend, the good twin, begs for your help to stop his brother. The bad twin on the other hand has dangerous and skilled instruments who follow him for there own reasons. No one knows, it's their reason after all. With the fate of the world resting on their shoulders, what will happen in this bustling city...?

Please original with your instruments :) Diversity is key and say in the ooc what your instrument is and side, it'd be awkward if two were the same on the same side. That means as long as you are on opposite sides you can have the same instrument.
